LIT or SH!T?: Benefit Porefessional Primer

May 14, 2016

I heard the hype about Benefit's POREfessional Primer for a long time before I actually tried it out. Every beauty blogger/vlogger/YouTuber I follow has been hyping this like it was the holy grail of primers.

I've been switching between many different primers because my pores are ridiculous and I have extreme oily-combination skin. Many pore-minimizing primers that I have used in the past don't necessarily control the oil very well, or if they do, they dry out my skin entirely. I was a little skeptical about trying out this primer, but let me tell you... IT'S LIT.

Benefit is by-far one of my favorite makeup brands, their "They're Real! Push-Up Liner" is the best eyeliner I have ever used in my life (and I have used a lot of eyeliners) - I trust Benefit with my life. Their makeup is extremely high quality for very reasonable prices.

Back to the primer,

This is the first time I've ever seen a primer minimize pores before applying foundation. Usually, I can't really tell until I put my foundation on and see if any of it sinks into my annoying pores. My pores are their worst in the corners of my eyes/bridge of my nose, the outer parts of my cheeks and right above my mouth.

The POREfessional Primer instantly covered my pores in my problem-areas which made my foundation look the most flawless it ever has.

The primer's texture is smooth and silky which makes application extremely easy. I'm used to extremely watery primers that end up making my face even oilier/shinier than it already is. The amazing thing about Benefit's PoreFessional is that you are able to re-apply it over top of your makeup and it doesn't move, remove or smudge your foundation. That's when I was immediately sold.

For a limited time at selected Sephora beauty stores, with the purchase of any 2 Benefit Cosmetics products, you'll receive a FREE "POREfessional kit" that comes with a mini POREfessional Primer and a mini "License to Blot" blotting stick. This is an oily combination skin's makeup dream.

Not only does the primer control oil extremely well, but the "License To Blot" blotting stick is an amazing backup tool to save the day. Blots away oil and dare I say it, even sweat. This kit has saved my makeup from quite literally melting away on a hot day.
